Two dogs, same dress...

Houndstooth pattern is odd, I think.

It is said that it is also known as "dog´s tooth", which
is a duotone pattern characterized by broken checks.
It originates from the Scottish Lowland
was used in 1885 by a high end
clothier in New York.

I still think is is the weirdest pattern ever, but
as much as I found it odd, the more I become
 friendly with it.
You have to play around with it a little bit and see
what works with it and what doesn´t.
Fact is that it is very "vintag-y", so it needs
some modern elements.

I really like Houndstooth. The name alone is
an eyecatcher.
The pattern makes you stand out instantly and
gives you a very unique look, but it still
keeps it´s sophisticated attribute.

It is definitely not for every day nor for
everyone. As a matter of
fact, I don´t feel like it is very
"Miami" either.
I would love to stroll around in
New York City or Barcelona with this
outfit. It will work there.

What do you think? Can you see the dog?

Mint Condition.

Don´t you just love this shade?

I am head over heels in love with this mint shade. I even painted my bathroom mint :)
It is the perfect color because it is so beautiful and soothing, you want to keep looking at it.
It matches beautifully with strong shades like
Fushia, Orange or Electric Blue, which makes it is almost like a
However, you can pair it with Black, White or Nude
it is still unique enough to stand out.
It is flattering on any type of woman, because it freshens up your look.
What did I tell you? Perfect.

Do you like the hair in my picture? If yes, here I share the hair:)

Do you want a piece of me?

Yes, those are all mine - I paint with basically everything I get in my hands: sharpies, crayons or chalk. But, I mainly use acrylic paint.
I also play with newspapers, sponges, magazines etc. I photograph anything that catches my attention or what I find beautiful, even though it might seem random to people.

I like to show things, nature or people through my own eye, how I see it or how I want to see it.
Most of my paintings are extremely colorful, because color possesses me. I get extremely excited everytime I open my box of crayons and see all the different colors available for me to use :)

I like to think of my pieces as some form of Pop Art, although I don´t like the that most of Pop Art has no meaning.
That is why I add a lot of me in my pieces. It always comes from somewhere: A feeling or a mood I am in, something I see, something I like, a certain situation or place in my life I feel deserves special attention.

It doesn´t always make sense to the audience, but it always has a little piece of my soul in it and it is always COLORFUL.

Wynwood Art Fair is coming up.....October 21st till October 23rd. Check it out!

Vintage Epidemic

It´s time to talk about Vintage and why I love it:

Admit it or not - It doesn´t matter where we go: A party, a dinner or just meeting friends, we like to hear that we are wearing a fabulous outfit. Certain vintage pieces like costume jewelery or a cute vintage purse will spice up your outfit and people will compliment you or ask you where you bought it. It will make you stand out from the crowd and ensures that nobody else wears the same purse, shirt or necklace.

Money Matters

Especially in these days we would like to look cute, elegant and put together without spending too much.
Hey, there is nothing wrong about shopping at Forever 21, Charlotte Russe and H&M. I love these stores, because you can find great deals on trendy and cute items for your closet.
However, in order to be able to be more creative and show your personality in your outfits, you can add a great vintage piece from the thrift store or second hand store for a reasonable price as well. I personally enjoy researching online or strolling around in second hand stores for unique pieces for my outfits - and believe me I don´t have a huge budget to spend on my fashion. It´s all about the treasure hunt.

Play a different character

I am a total freak, when it comes to my outfits and I would "go vintage" from head to toe. Its allows me to live the 40s, feel like Jackie O. or be a total Hippie. Let the freak flag fly and play - Halloween is coming up, soon;)

Of course, wearing vintage from head to toe, does not necesarily always work in our daily lives and it is also not for everybody.
If you are a vintage newbie or you don´t like to take too many fashion risks, try to mix and match. A simple white t-shirt and jeans are a great basis for a statement clutch or a great piece of vintage costume jewelery.
If you don´t like vintage because you think it is gross and ridiculous, well then that´s that.

Color possesses me....

I adore Jackson Pollock.
I also adore my Jackson Pollock inspired high-waisted skirt, which is from Francesa´s.
I combined it with a simple white tank top from Guess and my blue stilettos, which I bought at Zara years ago when I still lived in Spain.
I accessorized my outfit with a gold vintage chain necklace, which I found at Sale Rack - my favorite store in Coconut Grove. My bright yellow vintage clutch made by Calderon, I found on

And since I still couldn´t get enough of colors, I painted lips and toenails in hotpink as well:)

Jackson Pollock was an influential American painter and a major figure in the abstract expressionist movement. During his lifetime, Pollock enjoyed considerable fame and notoriety. He was regarded as a mostly reclusive artist.
Pollock's most famous paintings were made during the "drip period" between 1947 and 1950, which is why he was also called "Jack the Dripper".

I adore Pollock, because I can somehow relate to his way of painting when I paint myself.
Painting is very emotional for me. It comes from my feelings deep inside and it takes its own odd ways.
The modern artist is working and expressing an inner world - in other words - expressing the energy, the motion, and other inner forces. The painting has a life of its own. I try to let it come through. ~ Jackson Pollock

A Peach is a Peach is a Peach.

One does a whole painting for one peach and people think just the opposite - that particular peach is but a detail. - Pablo Picasso

I love Peach -  Peach is delicious. Peach is beautiful. Peach is flattering. Peach makes happy.

"We should learn from Crayons;
some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull while others are bright and some have weird names.
But they all learned to live together in the same box."
